Renewal of residence permit
A time-limited residence permit must be renewed before it expires if you wish to remain in Denmark. The renewal application should be submitted as early as possible — preferably 1-3 months before expiry.
Important to know
- Submit before expiry — otherwise you risk illegal stay.
- Renewal requirements may differ from those of the original permit.
- The case is reassessed against current conditions.
