Humanitarian residence permit

A humanitarian residence permit may be granted to rejected asylum seekers if quite exceptional humanitarian grounds exist — typically very serious physical or mental illness where suitable treatment is not available in the home country.

The permit is administered by the Ministry of Immigration and Integration and is granted very restrictively.
