The self-sufficiency requirement
The self-sufficiency requirement is a condition for the resident spouse not to have received benefits under the Active Social Policy Act or the Integration Act (e.g. cash benefits or self-support and repatriation benefits) within the last 3 years before the decision — and until the permit is granted. Certain benefits, such as SU (state student grants), unemployment benefit, or pensions, are not covered.
