As a student, you must participate actively in your educational programme
If you hold a residence permit as a student or PhD student in Denmark, you must participate actively in your education – you must be actively studying.
If you are not actively studying, there is no longer a basis for your permit as a student.
Your place of education will assess whether you participate sufficiently in the study activities. The assessment will centre around whether
- you are present in the classes and do not have a high absence rate
- you pass your exams
As a general rule, you are not actively studying if you are on a leave.
The educational institutions are obliged to inform SIRI if you are no longer actively studying in your educational programme.
If you are no longer actively studying in the programme your residence permit is based on, SIRI can revoke your permit.
