IIf you are a researcher and has to work as an external examiner
As a rule all types of work requires a work permit.
Whether or not something can be considered as work, is defined by the nature of the task and not whether or not you receive a salary or fee.
If you are only going to work in Denmark for a very short period of time, there are specific rules of exemption for researchers.

Being an examiner or doing other examination tasks can be so closely linked to your position as a researcher at a Danish University that it may come naturally to seek appointment as an examiner.
As a researcher you may therefore be allocated as an examiner or do examination tasks at another university than the one employing you, without needing to apply for a work permit for sideline employment.
This applies to both written and oral examinations.
SIRI suggests that you send a copy of your appointment from the corps of censors so there is no doubt that you have been appointed examiner or other examination tasks.
Are you not a researcher, but have a work permit valid with a specific employer, you must apply for a separate work permit for sideline employment if you are going to be an examiner at another institution or company.

A woman from India is allocated as an examiner at a Danish University.
Ordinarily, she works as a researcher, and has a residence and work permit under the Pay Limit scheme at another Danish University.
She has sent documentation for her appointment to SIRI (e.g. a mail from the corps of censors)
A work permit for sideline employment is not required.
An Egyptian woman is employed as a chemical engineer by a Danish company and has a residence and work permit under the Pay Limit Scheme.
She has been allocated as an examiner at a Danish University and has sent in documentation for the appointment (e.g. a mail from the corps of censors)
A work permit for a side-line occupation is required.
Since the woman has a residence and work permit on a different basis from a researcher she cannot be allocated as an examiner to another employer without a separate work permit for sideline employment.
